July Miramar Beach Cleanup

Today a small group of Surfrider Foundation members worked on cleaning up the beach east of the Whale’s tail along the public parking section. This beach is without question the most abused beach in Walton county! You can’t even see the beachfront as it is totally blocked by chair setups! Cans and bottles are everywhere. The most frequent article is, as always, the cigarette butt! A surprising second is drinking straws. Surprising until you realize that a tiki bar serves drinks with straws right there! The most disgusting articles include condoms, tampon applicators and 4 dirty diapers from different parts of the beach! What lesson do these parents teach their children with that behavior!
Anyway, we made a dent. We will return here again.
