DEP Announces Outstanding Contaminated Water Samples

Recent water quality results taken in Escambia and Walton Counties were found to be contaminated. The samples were taken by BP in October and indicate hits of petroleum contaminants. The positives in Pensacola locations were not surprising. The Seagrove Beach location in Walton County was unexpected. DEP's water sampling team went out again this past Monday to the same areas to collect additional samples. The SCAT reports have consistently shown elevated numbers of tarballs washing up in Walton County. Here are their results. Stay Tuned for the DEP follow-up sample results....
