In our effort to protect the beaches, Surfrider is teaming up with geologist Rip Kirby. Our volunteers will assist in sample collection and resources for a comprehensive testing program. We will provide a "State of the Beach" report after careful analysis of soil, both onshore and underwater just offshore. Analysis will include targeting with high power UV light, GC/MS analysis and Isotope identification. This will provide excellent detection, toxic analysis, and positive ID to the Deep Water Horizon disaster. Volunteers will be needed to spot, dig, sample, label, and report.
