We are super pleased to announce that we will be hosting Dr. Rip Kirby, coastal geologist from USF as our guest speaker at not only the Feb 8 Emerald Coast chapter meeting but also the Penacola Planning Committee meeting on Feb 9th!
Dr. Kirby has been working on Panhandle shorelines for a number of years and is currently testing our beaches for contamination in the beach sediments with UV lighting. In addition, Surfrider will be joining his team and assisting with his sampling effort. You will not want to miss out on this next chapter meeting to hear about some of his initial results, what it means, and how you can get involved in the effort of digging and testing to see learn the State of YOUR Beach.
